A one-of-a-kind hand-built ceramic serving platter with a softly irregular, undulating rim and a broad, shallow form.
The glaze moves through layers of pale blue, cream, soft aqua and deeper navy, with earthy brown and bronze speckling throughout. Around the rim, the glaze has pooled into little circular details and flowing streaks, giving the piece a beautiful watery, almost tidal feel. The centre is more softly mottled, which gives the whole platter a lovely sense of depth and movement.
It works beautifully as a fruit platter, serving dish, cheese or grazing plate, or simply as a statement piece on the table.
Food-safe and suitable to eat from. Hand washing is recommended to preserve the handmade finish.

Small variations in shape, glaze, texture and finish are part of its character, as well as part of my own learning and making process.
