Artist statement:
"Among the Poppies" explores themes of identity, introspection and the quiet process of personal discovery. Surrounded by vivid red poppies, the figure exists in a space between observation and imagination, where colour, pattern and emotion intersect. The contrast between the monochromatic figure and the vibrant floral background creates a visual dialogue between inner experience and the external world.

Inspired by the experience of living in and continually discovering the Pilbara, this work reflects my ongoing exploration of place, belonging and the way everyday encounters can evoke moments of reflection and connection. Through colour, pattern and visual storytelling, I aim to create a sense of curiosity, contemplation and emotional resonance.

Care and display instructions:
This artwork should be displayed indoors, away from direct sunlight, excessive humidity and extreme temperatures. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. The artwork is ready to hang.
